BIO
Attorney Sarah C. Garcia recently returned to our firm as Of Counsel. Previously, Mrs. Garcia was an Associate attorney at our office. In both positions, Mrs. Garcia has successfully represented clients in a variety of immigration and municipal court matters.
Experience
Ms. Garcia has over ten years of experience as an immigration attorney. She has been responsible for a variety of family-based petitions and applications. She has effectively filed hundreds of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) applications and renewals, as well as obtained unlawful presence waivers for her clients. Ms. Garcia has also secured bonds for clients in immigration detention and skillfully represented clients in their removal hearings.
Advocacy
Ms. Garcia strongly believes in advancing and protecting immigrant rights. As a pro bono attorney with the Safe Passage Project in New York, she obtained green cards for unaccompanied children in removal hearings. At Northeast New Jersey Legal Services, she volunteered to help low-income applicants complete their citizenship and green card applications. Most recently, Mrs. Garcia has spoken at local events, where she advocated for legislation that would end family separation at the border and give Dreamers a pathway to citizenship.

Mrs. Garcia earned her J.D. cum laude in 2005 from New York Law School. She is admitted to the bars of New Jersey, New York and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
